Question people actually type: What happens at onboarding and the install call?
Onboarding starts with a call with Daniel, where your Compa gets installed, your room gets opened, and your first deposits get loaded. Most owners leave the call with a working room.
Before the call, it helps to decide two things:
- Public or invitation-only. Your room's mode shapes everything else. If you're unsure, invitation-only with a check at day 90 is a sound start.
- The address. Your Asker is installed on a unique web address that you provide, usually a subdomain of your website, such as ask.yourcompany.com. Your main website stays as it is.
It also helps to gather a little material: the three questions people ask you most, any recordings you'd like to start with, and a few documents that explain how you work.
On the call, Daniel will typically:
- Install Compa on your computer and show you your vault folders.
- Set up your email agent and walk you through approving a change by replying APPROVED.
- Open your room at your chosen address.
- Load your first deposits and approve them with you.
- If you choose the own-key plan, help you set up your xAI account and API key.
- Review the Terms of Service with you. You accept them before anything goes live.
After the call, onboarding sessions with Daniel continue as part of your monthly plan. Typical follow-ups cover how the room is answering, filling the gaps the loop has found, and refining how you use Compa and email.
The first few weeks matter most. Use your own room daily. Ask it the questions your clients ask. Fix what's wrong, fill what's missing, and approve as you go. By the end of the first month, most of the rhythm is habit.
You don't need to be technical for any of this. If you can send an email and talk into a microphone, you can run an Asker.
