"360MEN Learning From Failure" and What It Teaches Asxer Owners About Blind Spots

and What It Teaches Asxer Owners About Blind Spots

On 2018-05-02, Daniel Comp published "360MEN Learning From Failure" on YouTube. GB places it in Mission 2, Scotomas: Seeing What You Haven't Seen, one of five missions in the whole-library reading What 13 Years of Video Says to SI.

What the video shows

A failed windsurf launch at a low reservoir turns into a lesson on asking better questions: "we didn't ask the right questions or we jumped to a conclusion hoping to find what we expected." Daniel frames ventures as experiments and points to history as a teacher. It is a blind-spot lesson anyone can test on their next plan.

It's just a straight-up experiment to see what we're gonna learn.

Angelina and I have come to Choke Lake Canyon here in Texas — north of Corpus Christi and south of San Antonio — to windsurf because there’s lots of wind.

From the YouTube description: Daniel Comp shares several insights on learning from failures by looking at the quality of our questions. (full description on YouTube)

The asxer angle

An asxer gives an owner the same practice in a new form. Because it answers from what the owner has actually written and recorded, the owner can ask it what they have said before and notice what they keep missing. Re-watching yourself is still the method; the asxer just makes the archive easy to search.

In the books: Prime 113.
