and What It Teaches Asxer Owners About Meaning Beyond the Job
On 2011-06-12, Daniel Comp published "MENtrepreneurs Trans-America 5K3C Invitation" on YouTube. GB places it in Mission 4, Meaning Beyond the Job, one of five missions in the whole-library reading What 13 Years of Video Says to SI.
What the video shows
Filmed at the 2011 start line in Blaine, Washington, Daniel invites men, and their wives to send them, to the pedaling camp, and gives his lasting definition: "an expedition is a journey with a purpose and a destination." That phrase runs straight through to Initium in 2025. It shows meaning was always tied to a shared journey, not a job.
an expedition is a journey with a purpose and a destination.
What’s the purpose of this expedition in your mind?
Daniel asks Angelina this at the starting point in Blaine, Washington.
The YouTube description reads: Invitation to 'ride for a change' with the MENtrepreneurs 2011 5k3c Trans-America Cycling Expedition. Come cycle a day, a week or a month - 5000 miles from Blaine, WA to South Padre Island, TX, and then to Bar Harbor, MN. The purpose of the expedition is to promote the Enterprising Cycle, an entrepreneurship system and job creation program for veterans and enterprising men.
Editor's note: the description says Bar Harbor, MN. Bar Harbor is in Maine.
