and What It Teaches Asxer Owners About Meaning Beyond the Job
On 2020-10-26, Daniel Comp published "SCOTOMAVILLE 02.01 - Persistence" on YouTube. GB places it in Mission 4, Meaning Beyond the Job, one of five missions in the whole-library reading What 13 Years of Video Says to SI.
What the video shows
On the fifth attempt to buy the Airstream despite bankers' promises, Daniel finally tells the 2005 story from the ride east out of Bellingham: "It turns out that butterflies had saved my life on that expedition." He also mentions Glenn the Windtalker. Persistence through refusal is meaning beyond any deal.
It turns out that butterflies had saved my life on that expedition.
When you're on an expedition you rope into each other.
