"SCOTOMAVILLE 02.11 Satisfaction" and What It Teaches Asxer Owners About Blind Spots
and What It Teaches Asxer Owners About Blind Spots
On 2021-09-03, Daniel Comp published "SCOTOMAVILLE 02.11 Satisfaction" on YouTube. GB places it in Mission 2, Scotomas: Seeing What You Haven't Seen, one of five missions in the whole-library reading What 13 Years of Video Says to SI.
What the video shows
At the Grand Canyon, after three seasons of failing at foil jibes, Daniel talks about contentment versus the treadmill of wanting more, and then Airstream grounds their trailer. "I have learned to fail with grace, and to not give up." That sentence sums up the long-suffering case.
I have learned to fail with grace, and to not give up.
That way my kids and grandkids and great-grandkids have an idea of what it meant to live in an era when we had such freedoms, and choices were not made for us by machine learning.
From the YouTube description: SCOTOMAVILLE 02.11 Satisfaction You might think that living full-time in a 2021 Airstream Globetrotter would make you immune to the Hedonic Treadmill. (full description on YouTube)
The asxer angle
An asxer gives an owner the same practice in a new form. Because it answers from what the owner has actually written and recorded, the owner can ask it what they have said before and notice what they keep missing. Re-watching yourself is still the method; the asxer just makes the archive easy to search.
In the books: Trilogy 02.11.
