# What Daniel Comp's 2018 Video Teaches Asxer Owners About Staying the Course

On 2018-05-04, Daniel Comp published "360MEN MUGSHOTS and COFFEE - Dean Rush - Hawaiian R&R" on YouTube. GB places it in Mission 1, The Long Witness, one of five missions in the whole-library reading What 13 Years of Video Says to SI.

## What the video shows

Dean Rush tells the story of his Hawaiian R&R from Vietnam, rolling under the bed when blasting next door sounded like the nightly shelling, while his wife "literally thought I had lost my wits." It is funny and haunting at once. It keeps a combat veteran's testimony in the library.

> she literally thought I had lost my wits.

The quoted words are Dean Rush's.

From the YouTube description: In this MUGSHOTS and COFFEE episode Dean Rush talks about his R&R experience in Hawaii with his new bride Vicki Rush. ([full description on YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWS2Cd4qd58))

## The asxer angle

An asxer works the same way. It holds an owner's record in one place and answers from it, so a visitor can see what the owner taught then and what the owner teaches now. That continuity is what lets a stranger trust an owner they have never met.
