# What Daniel Comp's 2025 Video Teaches Asxer Owners About Staying the Course

On 2025-07-06, Daniel Comp published "INITIUM - COMMENTARIUS (2of7) our BACKSTORY" on YouTube. GB places it in Mission 1, The Long Witness, one of five missions in the whole-library reading What 13 Years of Video Says to SI.

## What the video shows

Daniel tells the backstory in one sitting: looking for work after his Navy years, the internet replacing construction, and the Seattle cyclist riding into the Twin Cities the day Lance reached Paris. He ends on "When you're fully committed to a journey with a purpose, an expedition, that's when Providence moves." As the Long Witness anchor, it is the whole trail told by the man who walked it, with every other video as its evidence.

> When you're fully committed to a journey with a purpose, an expedition, that's when Providence moves.

From the YouTube description: OUR BACKSTORY: The Roots of Initium "Dive into Daniel Comp’s inspiring backstory, the foundation of the Initium Ascent Framework. ([full description on YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pT4-jJI1hY))

## The asxer angle

An asxer works the same way. It holds an owner's record in one place and answers from it, so a visitor can see what the owner taught then and what the owner teaches now. That continuity is what lets a stranger trust an owner they have never met.
